Description
This unique 560SL was completed at the Mercedes-Benz plant as a 1989 model-year car. Destined for the US market, the luxurious Mercedes-Benz was sold new in June of 1989 to its first owner located in North Royalton, Ohio.
The 560SL has remained with this family till 2018, while being meticulously cared for, as the car presents beautifully in its original factory Signal Red exterior paint colour over its beige interior to this day. The good condition is overwhelming throughout the car, and less than 102,000 miles are recorded on the odometer from new. The paintwork is very good. In 2014 the seats were completely reupholstered in the original colour. The A/C blows cold, and the original factory decals and markings remain untouched. The original hard top is fitted as is a soft top. The car is accompanied by an impressive history file, original paperwork such as the original order note, the owner's manuals in pouch, tools and jack. Many service records can be found in the cars history file, and will attest to devoted maintenance over the years.
The second owner had the car fully checked for potential defects and had it converted to European specs. Original European headlights, bumpers etc. To complete its elegant look, the third brake light was carefully removed. The automatically controlled injection system was completely restored. As a result, the car responds and drives as Mercedes-Benz intended at the time.
Overall, this 560SL presents in extremely well-preserved condition. As such, this high-quality Mercedes-Benz is ideally suited for open top touring with nearly all the power and amenities of a modern car. All the while, the R107 is uniquely elegant and stylish in a way only a classic Mercedes-Benz SL can capture.
